Frequently Asked Questions

Need help with an appliance repair or finding the right spare part?

We’ve answered some of the questions we’re asked most often below. If you can’t find what you need, contact our Launceston team and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Appliance Repairs

Often, yes. Repairing an appliance can be significantly more cost-effective than replacing it. We can assess the fault and provide practical advice based on the appliance’s age, condition, likely repair cost and availability of replacement parts.

We repair a wide range of domestic appliances, including washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, cooktops, rangehoods, refrigerators and freezers.

We service many major appliance brands. If you’re unsure whether we can repair your particular make or model, contact us with the brand and model number and we’ll let you know.

Yes. While we repair a wide range of household and commercial appliances, there are some appliances and brands we don’t service.

We do not repair microwaves, coffee machines or vacuum cleaners, and we currently do not service Samsung or Hisense appliances.

Our repair services cover washing machines, clothes dryers, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, ovens, cooktops and rangehoods from the brands we support.

Yes. We provide mobile appliance repair services throughout Launceston and surrounding areas within our service area. Depending on the appliance and fault, repairs may be completed on-site or the appliance may need further workshop attention.

Yes. We have a workshop in South Launceston and walk-ins are welcome. For larger appliances, contact us first so we can advise whether a mobile service call would be more suitable.

Where possible, provide the appliance type, brand, model number, serial number and a description of the problem. Photos can also be useful, particularly of the appliance, model number label or any visible damage or error codes.

If your appliance is still under warranty, you’ll need to contact the appliance manufacturer first to report the fault and arrange a warranty claim.

The manufacturer will assess your claim and, where applicable, issue a work order to Appliance Repairs & Spares Tasmania. We must receive this work order from the manufacturer before we can carry out any warranty repairs.

Once the work order has been issued to us, we can proceed with arranging your warranty service.

Please do not book a warranty repair directly with us before contacting the manufacturer, as we’re unable to commence warranty work without an authorised work order.

Appliance Spare Parts

Yes. We stock and source replacement appliance parts for a wide range of leading brands. If we don’t have the required part in stock, we can often order it for you.

Appliance parts can look almost identical while having completely different specifications. The safest way to identify the correct part is using the appliance’s model number.

Please provide as much information as possible, including:

  • appliance type
  • manufacturer or brand
  • model number
  • part number, if known
  • description of the problem
  • photos of the appliance
  • photo of the model/serial number label
  • photo of the existing or damaged part

That’s fine. Tell us what the appliance is doing, provide the model information and send through photos where possible. Our team can help determine which component may be required.

In many cases, yes. We can source appliance parts from a range of suppliers and manufacturers. Availability will depend on the appliance brand, model and age.

We can source genuine replacement parts for many leading appliance brands. Where applicable, we can also advise whether other suitable replacement options are available.

Bookings & Service

We service Launceston and surrounding areas within approximately 25 km, including Riverside, Legana, Prospect, Prospect Vale, Hadspen, Perth, Longford, Evandale, Relbia, Newstead, Kings Meadows and Youngtown.

Yes, and we encourage it. Photos of the appliance, identification label, damaged component or error message can help us understand the problem and identify parts more accurately.

Repair time depends on the fault, technician availability and whether replacement parts are required. Some issues can be resolved during the initial visit, while others may require parts to be ordered before the repair can be completed.

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome. If possible, bring the existing part along with your appliance’s model and serial number so we have the best chance of identifying the correct replacement.

There isn’t one answer for every appliance. We generally consider its age, overall condition, likely repair cost and parts availability. If repairing it no longer makes economic sense, we’ll tell you.
